Lacrosse

We teach and play the game of lacrosse as a way to build community and invest students in school. As one of the most competitive programs in the city, Bronx Lacrosse provides student-athletes with high-level coaching and elite competition. A serious commitment to lacrosse gives students an edge as they apply to competitive high schools and colleges.

Our participants train in engaging practices multiple times a week, compete in games and tournaments, and take part in weekend enrichment trips and clinics. These experiences develop discipline, teamwork, and resilience while also providing opportunities to compete against top-level talent.

Algebra-Readiness Tutoring

Our Algebra-Readiness Tutoring program ensures our middle schoolers build the essential math skills needed for high school success. Unlike traditional "homework help," this structured, high-dosage tutoring provides each student with personalized learning plans that target key mathematical topics. Each middle school student receives 120 minutes of targeted math instruction per week.

We measure success through baseline and endline assessments and student performance on the Algebra Regents exam. This program sets the stage for success in ninth grade math—a key predictor of high school graduation and college enrollment—by strengthening problem-solving skills and mathematical fluency.

High School Application Support

We provide personalized guidance to help our 8th graders navigate New York City's complex high school admissions process, ensuring they gain access to top-tier schools that set them up for long-term success. Attending a well-regarded high school makes our students more competitive when applying to college.

From school research and application strategy to interview prep and admissions exams, we offer individualized support every step of the way. Our students are consistently accepted into high-performing high schools, giving them the best possible foundation for their academic and athletic futures.

College Access

A key part of our work is ensuring Bronx Lacrosse student-athletes have the knowledge, support, and resources to achieve their post-secondary goals. We guide students—and their families—through the entire college process, from exploration to application, with dedicated support throughout all four years of high school.

Our College Access program includes workshops, one-on-one counseling, and hands-on guidance with college research, essay writing, and financial aid, including FAFSA completion. As our results continue to grow, we are proud to see our students earning acceptance to top colleges and universities, breaking barriers, and many becoming the first in their families to attend college.

Mentorship & SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING

Our Program Directors serve as trusted mentors, guiding our student-athletes through academics, school life, and personal challenges. They are the steady, daily presence that ensures students stay on the right path, both in the classroom and on the field. Through consistent check-ins and unwavering support, our mentors help students develop confidence, accountability, and a strong sense of purpose.

Mentorship goes beyond encouragement—it delivers results. Our students attend school more often and stay engaged, thanks to the relationships they build with our dedicated staff. SEL experiences are infused into all Bronx Lacrosse activities, from tutoring sessions to practice, fostering a culture of discipline, resilience, and mutual respect. Students learn to show up prepared, push through challenges, accept feedback, and support one another—critical skills that extend far beyond the game.

Summer Academy

As a year-round youth development organization, we keep students engaged beyond the school year. Our Summer Academy in July combines lacrosse training, book clubs, and academic support to prevent summer learning loss while reinforcing discipline and teamwork.

Students also take part in team-building activities, enrichment trips, and lacrosse showcases, gaining exposure to top competition and college recruiters. A highlight is our annual Adirondack camp in August, where student-athletes step outside their comfort zones, build friendships, and experience the outdoors—many for the first time.
